My research focuses on how populations and communities function under multiple environmental constraints and stressors. Using applied mathematics, dynamical systems, and bifurcation theory, I develop models that explore how heterogeneous populations balance resources, respond to changing conditions, and exhibit key ecological thresholds. Much of this work examines how elemental balance, such as carbon, nitrogen, and phosphorus, shapes population dynamics across trophic levels within both aquatic and terrestrial systems.

As an affiliate of the Invasive Species Collaborative (ISC), I apply these modeling approaches to interdisciplinary questions involving species interactions, ecological change, and the impacts of invasive species. My collaborations with ecologists and commitment to cross-disciplinary research support the development of theory-driven tools for understanding ecological processes across biological and spatiotemporal scales.
