Earn a PhD in Mathematics Education

We offer two PhD programs in mathematics education: one through the School of Education and one through the Mathematics Department (see descriptions below). Students from both programs regularly work together and occasionally attend conferences together.

The Mathematics Education Doctoral Program in the School of Education focuses on original research, preparing students for research and teaching in a context that is rigorous, collegial, and cooperative.
