Outreach

Faculty and students from our department engage in outreach activities throughout the year. These activities include the Blacksburg Math Circle, for middle school students interested in advanced mathematics; opportuhities for free tutoring for k-12 students; and the Virginia Tech Math XPerience--a summer workshop for high school students. In partnerhsip with Clemson University, we also host an annual Mathematics Opportunitities in Research and Education (MORE) conference. Additionally, our department has a very active chapter of the Association for Women in Mathematics, which was recently recognized with AWM's Award for Scientific Excellence.
