Yichen's research centers on numerical analysis, linear algebra, and high-performance computing. Yichen co-hosted a Numerical Analysis Reading Group and is currently the President of the SIAM Student Chapter at Virginia Tech.

Corinne works in college math education with a focus on making proof-based teaching more equitable. Her dissertation investigates how students experience enculturation into proof writing in advanced math courses. Corinne is a Senior GTA in the department and holds leadership positions in multiple campus organizations.
